In the conventional marketing, a product has to pass through several intermediate agents like Custom & Freights clearing agents, Super Stockist, wholesaler and then a retailer, before it reaches the end user. The price of the product is also increased substantially with the operational cost and profit margin of all these intermediate agents/operators.

On analysis, it is evident that when the product reaches the end-user, there will be a cost escalation of approximately 50-60% from the manufacturing cost. In addition to this intermediate increase in price of the product, there may be an additional cost increase due to advertisement. For example, a product sold at 100USD in the market would actually cost less than 40USD at the manufacturing place. The difference is due to the operational & profit margin fixed by the intermediate operators. In mlm network marketing, all the intermediate agents are avoided and the product is delivered directly at your home. The intermediate expenditure of 50-60% is now distributed to the members of network marketing based on their business promotions or based on their business volume, which may ultimately lead to an extra source of income and a financial security over a period of time. When a person joins as a member of a mlm network marketing network, he either need to promote the product or the business concept, for which he will be paid (payment based on the business promotion or product promotion). The promotion is nothing but referring the business concept or the product to his/her nears and dears. The network thus grows, when one person referring one after the other and this chain continues. One should be careful in choosing a mlm network. There is always a risk in such companies where the product being distributed or the service being rendered is not the core line of business of the parent company.
